And So it Begins....

I hate to think, but am starting to believe, we have this to look forward to all season:

1. Fozzy Whittaker will be a game time decision on Saturday.

  1. Meh. We should probably be used to this by now. That's ok - Vondrell is going to run for 115 yards on Saturday and 1,100 yards for the season. Now there's a prediction!

By the way, have you seen the preseason picks of the "experts" at ESPN?

Lots of love for the fellas in burnt orange. 7 of 8 experts have us in the BCS title game, and 4 have us hoisting the crystal in Pasadena yet again.

The most important question: WHERE THE HELL WERE THESE PEOPLE LAST NOVEMBER?

  2. I hadn't seen the World Wide Leader's predictions, but frankly, it doesn't surprise me. I am finding out more and more that the sports media "establishment" are so-called "lagging indicators," which is economic speak for "total fricking morons who don't really know what they are talking about." This is not to say that our beloved Horns won't win the whole thing this year, but just confirmation of what the we in the blogosphere (and, yes, I do include SLAE within that cherished realm)know implicitly: those guys barely follow the sports they profess to cover.

Last year's raping of Texas at the hands of OU ... wait, what??...we WON last year?....AAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!; [rewrite] Last year's raping of Texas by the pollsters showed the herd mentality of sportswriting mental midgets. I have to discount ESPN's predictions as more of the same -- even if I like the outcome they predict.

If you want a great rebuttal of sportswriting (admittedly with a Dodgers focus, check out http://www.memoriesofkevinmalone.com/
